ISM Blog 2- The Connection process

This week in ISM was the week where we began to actually start to look for people to interview within our field. I was a bit hastily with this process by forgetting about the research part and attempted to connect with a person named Kenneth Davis however I did not have the personalized message attached to the connection request meaning that my connection request got denied. With that knowledge in hand I copied, modified and pasted the personal message in Linked In and I attempted to connect with a person named Monica Merritt. She responded back meaning that I got my first professional connection done! The next steps however are not easy. After sending the personized ISM message, she sent me her email and now I am in the process of drafting up an email to her for my first interview assignment. On other news I finally did my speech that everyone else did weeks ago. TO prepare for this speech I copied and pasted the template and then began to fill it out, however I really did not want to directly copy the outline so on the 14th I decided to ask Coach Goff what was the important part of the speech and I got my answer! The Introduction and conclusion so on that Wednesday I focused on the introduction and conclusion and made sure to remember it and I feel that the speech was a success. Next time I hope to tell about more details about the planned interview and maybe more connections!
